J Rainfords & Sons Ltd is now perfectly placed for growth and job creation.

Both families had known each other for years so the merger was viewed as the logical step forward and will give both the scope to expand and service the entire region.

The new business venture will be based place at the Hatchwood site in Lancashire, with a distribution centre in Cumbria and will see production and packaging reach 1.75 million eggs per week once an ongoing modernisation programme has been completed.

Rainfords will continue to supply Lion Quality Eggs to major supermarkets and smaller retailers across the North West, as well as their own brand, Pennine Eggs.
